Scarab
beetles are heavy bodied insects. The antennae are lamellate with the terminal
segment usually forming a club. The large June beetles below have very large
antennae. The gray beetle to their left have small lamellate antennae. This
family is very large with many species and forms. The top left was collect in
southern California.
